2004: 99Rooms

99Rooms is an unique internet art project that mixes wall painting, photography, animation and sound. Shortly after its launch in June 2004, more than 5 million individuals throughout the world have already visited this interdisciplinary composite work of art. 99Rooms stemmed from the mystical, often apocalyptically charming pictures created by Berlin artist Kim Köster within the countless vacated premises of East Berlin‘s industrial sector.

2010: Ana Somnia

A whole world waits for you when you turn out the lights. Our imagination works wonders when no one is watching. In our dreams lie childish figures, random shapes and half remembered memories. Ana Somnia is a generative art project that emulates how we dream, combining animation, soundscapes and code. Kim Köster’s Illustrations merge in manifold permutations, seemingly the same, yet different each time. Switch off your lights to enter Ana’s dreamworld.
RECORD
record

Tell us what you think about who we are and what we do. Because you are part of it. You switched off the light, wandered off into dreamland with Ana and dared to enter 99rooms. Let us know what you encountered in our worlds, and how you felt about it. Record your thoughts via webcam, share your experiences – have a say in where to go next. Press record and become part of our new project.
